Academic Policy

Academic Policy

We know that McGill’s policies can be confusing or lacking. If you’re unsure about your situation, check out the SSMU Student Rights website, an initiative of the SSMU University Affairs Committee (UAC). The website informs students of their academic rights alongside efforts to outline processes to follow in order to assert academic rights. The aim is to help individual students address their own issues in order to foster a culture of collective advocacy across campus.

If you’re still unsure, contact the “Student Rights” email, and the SSMU Policy, Advocacy and Research Commissioner will do their best to support you or direct you to appropriate resources.

You may also find consulting the McGill “Academic Rights and Responsibilities” page helpful.

For all inquiries and concerns regarding academic policy, please contact the VP University Affairs by email at ua@ssmu.ca.
