Detail about the event
The SSMU Winter General Assembly will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, in Leacock 132. Please bring your McGill student ID.
The GA is a time when you can make a direct change at McGill! Members of SSMU participate in direct democracy by writing and voting on motions that mandate the Students’ Society of McGill University to take specific action. All motions should be submitted to the Parliamentarian (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Monday, March 5, at 11:59 p.m.
Before the event starts, links will be posted to a video live feed as well as to a Google document of the real-time minutes.
You can also follow along on Twitter @theSSMU and join the conversation with #SSMUGA
Late motions will be accepted up until the 24 hour period directly preceding the start of the GA, but they will only be considered if 2/3 of GA attendees vote in favour of having the respective motions added to the agenda. Motions can also be submitted from the floor of the GA, but they can only be on the agenda if 3/4 of attendees vote in favour of this.
The simplest way of having motions added to the agenda is to submit them by March 5, so please make all reasonable efforts to send motions to the Parliamentarian in a timely manner.

Childcare will be available for the event with 24 hours notice. The Leacock Building is wheelchair accessible, including automatic doors, bathrooms, and elevators. There is a gender-neutral bathroom located on the 5th floor. Whisper translation between English and French will be available. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Muna Tojiboeva at email@example.com
