Dr. J. B. Debruille, associate professor with the Department of Psychiatry of McGill University, is looking for pairs of participants for a psychological study. These pairs should consist of two friends, who are right-handed, very close and have known each other for at least 3 years. Each member of the pair should be between 18 and 30 years of age, with at least a college level of education (completed or in process), and have no history of neurological or psychological illness. Both partners would come to the Douglas hospital for a meeting that lasts about 3 hours. The experiment involves the recording of the brain’s electrical activity while participants complete a simple computerized task. Each participant will be compensated 13$ per hour. When arriving at the laboratory, a test will be done to ensure that participants are truly close friends. If the test is failed, the experiment will not take place and we cannot provide compensation for transport.
