Women wanted for Healthy Aging Study


Researchers in the lab of Dr. Mallar Chakravarty at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute are conducting a study on how the brain changes over the course of healthy aging. We are recruiting healthy women between the ages of 40 and 80 years old who are willing to participate for a total of 5-6 hours. Financial compensation available.

Inclusion criteria:
-Between the ages of 40 and 80
-Right handed
-No metal in body
-No history of brain damage or concussion

Study involves:

-Screening interview: Brief 15-20 minute phone interview evaluating eligibility for participation in the study.

-Cognitive and Neuropsychological testing: Verbal, paper-pencil and computerised tests assessing various cognitive functions.

-High Resolution Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): High resolution images of your brain to assess detailed brain structure.

-Genetic testing: Blood testing for specific genes related to brain structure and function.
