McGill Entrepreneurs’ Society is organizing an INTER-FACULTY PERFORMING ARTS COMPETITION
The McGill Entrepreneurs’ Society is organizing an INTER-FACULTY PERFORMING ARTS COMPETITION for the upcoming school year.
The competition will be focused on humor and artistic talent (such as dancing/singing/performing). There will be big prizes for the best teams.
The event is meant to bring together students from across faculties to interact with each other and to compete in a fun artistic way.
We still have a few spots left on the organizing committee! We are looking for a VP Sponsorship (work with companies for sponsorship of the event) and VP Logistics (taking care of room bookings, practice schedule, managing auditions…)
The event will be held at the beginning of Winter semester, but we are looking for organizing members NOW! Join a great team and work on a fun event! Network, meet fun people, and develop organizational skills.

The McGill Farmers Market is BACK…
For its THIRD year! (remember all the gorgeous vegetables surrounding those three naked people in the park?) and the McGill Farmers Market needs your help!
No, you don’t have to weed carrots or milk cows. but, we do need help with:
- setting up tents for farmers, artisans, musicians and special workshops that happen every week! also take-down at the end of every market
- recording how many people come to the market (we have a special clicker-machine! super easy and fun job)
- greeting people and telling them more about the market, giving out information from our rain-proof tent! (fairly sun proof as well)
Special benefits, like wicked awesome t-shirts with the mcgill farmers market logo and volunteers-only events!

Join us as we cheer on Redmen Football at the BIGGEST EVER Fill the Stadium game on Friday, September 17th at 19h00 at the newly renovated Percival Molson Stadium! This year, our goal is to have 6,000 fans watch as the Redmen take on the Concordia Stingers. To make this happen we need your help!
If you are a part of any club, team or group, Fill the Stadium tickets are a great way to fundraise! Groups can purchase tickets for $2 each, and sell them for $4, keeping a $2 profit for themselves, and even better, groups who purchase over 200 tickets only pay $1.50 per ticket, keeping a $2.50 profit. So for example, selling 300 tickets will give your group a $750 profit!
Groups that sell over 200 tickets will also get 10 free passes to the Molson Dry Mega Party in Old Montreal. The party is on September 16th and consists of 2 floors of ridiculously insane party- $3 beer, sweet DJ’s and prizes. And to top it all off, someone at the party will win a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina! Contact alyson.mcphee@mcgill.ca for fundraising opportunities.

Montreal Neurological Institute is seeking participants for a non-invasive study ($20)
The Montreal Neurological Institute is seeking men and women (of all ages) for a non-invasive study of motor coordination occuring this month. Participants will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire, solve a series of simple puzzles and to manipulate objects with their hands. Subjects will also tap out sequences on an apparatus using a metal stylus. The testing session will last ~ 1 hour. Participants will be paid $20. Journalists for Human Rights (jhr) McGill is looking for a VP Events to join our energetic executive team. The VP Events heads up the Events team, which puts on our annual Rights in Black & White party fundraiser as well as smaller chapter social events and fundraisers (pub nights, potlucks, concerts, etc.). The VP Events also provides support to the VP Advocacy in organizing human rights awareness and campaign events. We’re looking for someone who is highly organized and passionate about the cause and also ready to make the party happen! (You also need to attend bi-weekly exec meetings on Wednesdays.) Le Marché fermier de McGill est de retour…
Pour sa TROISIÈME année ! (vous vous souvenez des beaux légumes près des trois gars tout nus dans le parc ?) et le Marché fermier de McGill a besoin de vous!
Non, vous n’aurez pas à éplucher des carottes ou à traire des vaches. Cependant, nous avons besoin de personnes pour :
- installer des tentes pour les fermiers, les artisans, les musiciens et pour les ateliers spéciaux qui auront lieu à chaque semaine! Et aussi pour les démonter à la fin de chaque marché.
- noter le nombre de personnes qui sont venues au marché (Nous avons une superbe machine à cliquer! Un emploi super facile et amusant!)
- souhaiter la bienvenue aux visiteurs, leur donner plus de renseignements à propos du marché et leur donner des dépliants (Sous notre tente imperméable! Et aussi pas mal résistante aux rayons solaires!)
Des petits extras, comme un magnifique t-shirt à l’effigie du Marché et des évènements pour bénévoles seulement!

Cours de premiers soins/DEA/RCR
Vous croyez qu’on peut tout régler avec un bandage? Venez voir ce qu’on peut vraiment en faire dans un cours de premiers soins standards/DEA/RCR donné par des formateurs de la Croix-Rouge certifiés! Les cours auront lieu les 11 et 12 septembre, le 26 septembre et le 3 octobre, les 24 et 31 octobre et les 14 et 21 novembre. Le cout est de 90$ pour les étudiants de McGill et 100$ pour le grand public. Certains des thèmes seront : la croissance économique et le développement durable, l’ingéniosité et l’entreprenariat et une séance sur le développement basiste de politique pour les scientifiques et les ingénieurs souhaitant s’impliquer.

Venez encourager l’équipe de football les Redmen avec nous lors de LA PLUS IMPORTANTE PARTIE « Remplir le stade », vendredi le 17 septembre à 19 h 00 dans le Stade Percival Molson, récemment rénové! Cette année, notre objectif est d’avoir 6 000 fans présents lorsque les Redmen affronteront les Stingers de Concordia. Pour que cela soit possible, nous avons besoin de votre aide!
Si vous faites partie d’un club, d’une équipe ou d’un groupe, vendre des billets « Remplir le stade » est un excellent moyen de lever des fonds! Des groupes peuvent se procurer des billets pour 2$ chaque, les revendre au prix de 4$ et donc générer un profit de 2$! De plus, les groupes qui achètent plus de 200 billets n’auront qu’à payer chaque billet 1,50$, ce qui donne un profit de 2,50$. Alors, par exemple, vendre 300 billets donnera 750$ de profit à votre groupe!
Les groupes qui vendent plus de 200 billets recevront aussi dix laissez-passer gratuits pour le Méga Party Molson Dry dans le Vieux-Montréal. Il aura lieu le 16 septembre et consistera de deux étages de party complètement malade : bière à 3$, DJs savoureux et de nombreux prix. En plus de tout ça, un des chanceux fêtards gagnera un voyage à Buenos Aires, en Argentine! Contactez alyson.mcphee@mcgill.ca pour des occasions de levées de fonds.

L’Institut neurologique de Montréal est à la recherche d’hommes et de femmes (de tous âges) pour une étude non-invasivesur la coordination motrice, qui aura lieu ce mois-ci. Les participants auront à compléter un questionnaire médical, à résoudre une série de simples casse-têtes et à manipuler des objets avec leurs mains. Les sujets devront aussi inscrire des séquences sur un appareil à l’aide d’un stylet de métal. La séance durera environ une heure. Les participants recevront 20$.
