The Arts Undergraduate Theatre Society (AUTS) would like to invite you to come see their 2011 production, “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, a Tony Award-winning musical, starting on January 20th, 2011.
AUTS is a student founded, funded, and run organization seeking to empower young actors, singers, dancers, directors, designers and musicians. We have previously staged such musicals as “Hair”, “Urinetown”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, and “Cabaret”. In our fifth season, AUTS has chosen to take a more daring approach, and will be presenting a comparatively little known musical, by the name of “Kiss of the Spiderwoman.” Although not a household name, “Kiss” has won 7 Tony awards, held an iconic Broadway career, and features sumptuous music by John Kander and Fred Ebb (of “Cabaret” fame). A highly intense, dark, and sensual piece of theatre, “Kiss” breaks new ground with its stunning portrayals of prison life, homosexuality, and most of all, the power of imagination.
The show will run from January 20th-22nd, and the 27-29th. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and will take place in Moyse Hall. Tickets can be bought online through the AUTS website: www.autsmcgill.com.
