The Montréal Massacre of December 6, 1989, in which 14 women students at the École Polytechnique were systematically killed and 13 other students wounded by a lone gunman, is indelibly imprinted on the minds of Quebeckers and others who struggled to comprehend the worst single-day massacre in Canadian history.
SACOMSS (Sexual Assault Centre of McGill Students’ Society) puts on an annual memorial for the women killed at UdeM’s ecole polytechnique on Dec 6, 1989.
The memorial will include speakers on gendered violence, and some music from Effusion (an A Capella group). it takes place on Saturday Dec 6, at 1pm., at the Birks Chapel which can be found on 3520 University, just north of Milton (west side of the street).
