COVID-19 Restrictions in SSMU Spaces

Dear SSMU members,

On behalf of the Students’ Society of McGill University, the executives would like to wish you a very happy New Year (for those that follow the Gregorian Calendar)!

Although this new year brings forth great excitement and possibility, we are still in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, and thus have had to implement some safety measures over the winter break to ensure the safety of the McGill and Montreal community.

SSMU Building Closure

For the next two weeks, the University Centre and 3501 Peel building will be closed to the public as well as to its non-essential employees.

Events and Room Booking

All events that were scheduled to take place in January are now cancelled and room bookings are closed until further notice. Activities Night will now be taking place entirely online.

SSMU Office

The SSMU office is closed until further notice but we continue to provide all our services to our membership! The SSMU staff is working mostly remotely. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
Package and mail pick-up information will be communicated to clubs and services shortly.

Gerts Bar and Cafe

Gerts Bar and Gerts Cafe are closed until further notice.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out! Contact wsealy@ssmu.ca for information on health and safety measures at SSMU, internal@ssmu.ca with questions on SSMU’s current operations, eventscoord@ssmu.ca regarding room bookings, and frontctr@ssmu.ca with general inquiries.
We appreciate your understanding as we continue to keep a close eye on government regulations in order to bring our services back to you as soon as possible. We wish you and your loved ones health and safety in these trying times.

En Solidarité,
The SSMU Executive Committee
