Beyond Notes: Black Musicians’ Impact on Artistry and Social Dynamics

About the event

Join the Black Students Network and the Music Education Undergraduate Student Association for our first collaboration on February 12, 2024 for an enriching event that celebrates the profound impacts of Black musicians on both social and artistic realms. This event coincides with Black History Month, providing a timely and meaningful opportunity to reflect on the profound contributions of Black musicians. This unique gathering brings together passionate educators, music enthusiasts, and cultural advocates to explore the transformative influence of Black musicians. This event also brings together renowned Black musician educators who have made significant contributions to the world of music, not only as artists but also as influential educators. Each guest will be presenting for forty-five minutes each, with a small thirty minute mixer and chat during the event times. We are thankful to be collaborating with Scott Tixier, Charlie Curtis-Beard, and Nantali Indongo.
