Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRB) Awareness Week

Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRB) Awareness Week

About the event

At least 1 in 20 people live with compulsive pulling, picking, and biting behaviors like hair pulling disorder (trichotillomania) and skin picking disorder (excoriation).

Body-focused repetitive behaviors are a common mental health disorder that most people have never heard about. Extreme shame and embarrassment cause many affected individuals to keep their pulling, picking and biting compulsions a secret.

BFRBs are common, support is available, and no one should suffer alone.
