McGill remembers one of our own.

McGill Athletics & Recreation sadly announces the death of Adriano Tassone, a 23-year old management senior from St. Laurent, Que., and a member of the varsity football team.
Tassone, a six-foot, 186-pound defensive back, was credited with 10 solo tackles, four assisted tackles and a pass knockdown in 12 career games since joining the Redmen out of John Abbott College in 2005. A former multi-sport athlete with Loyola high school and a rugby player with the Quebec under-19 provincial team, he was scheduled to graduate with a commerce degree in June.

“What a terrible tragedy. He was such a super, young man and a great teammate, one of the most popular players on the team,” said Sonny Wolfe, head coach of the Redmen. “He was so vibrant and full of life at our annual awards banquet last week. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

Tassone is survived by parents Vincenzo and Sabina and his 25-year-old sister Liana. The The family has requested that their wishes for privacy be respected.
