COFFEE 4 MUNACA – Nov. 24th, 2011

The SSMU invites you to join:

Art History and Communication Studies and the Post-Graduate Students Society of McGill present:

COFFEE 4 MUNACA – Nov. 24th, 2011

It’s been over 80 days (and counting) since over 1700 of our non-academic staff went on strike.

What can we do to show our support for and solidarity with MUNACA?

Next Thursday, the 24th of November, the AHCS department is planning to send our support to MUNACA in the form of hot coffee and baked goods. We are counting on other students, staff, faculty and community members to help us get these out to over 1000 MUNACA workers. If you are interested and have some time to spare in the days leading up to the action, or on that day, please get in touch with us by sending off a quick email to munaca.thursday@gmail.com.

There are also plans underway to read out a letter of support and a list of grievances about the MUNACA strike that Thursday in front of the James Administration building. If you have something MUNACA-related that you would like to read out, please let us know.

How can you help?

-making and delivering coffee to the picket lines

-making and delivering baked goods to the picket lines

-communicating your own letter of support or list of grievances about the strike

-crafting signs, banners, or other items in support of MUNACA

– spread the word about the action to other students, staff, faculty, and community members

– talk to or walk with MUNACA members

We look forward to having you join and stand in solidarity with MUNACA next week.
