Reminder | Today’s General Assembly: Motion Regarding a Strike in Support of Palestinian Liberation

Dear SSMU Members,

This is a reminder that a Special Strike General Assembly (SGA) will be taking place later TODAY, Thursday, March 27, 2025, where the “Motion Regarding [a] Strike in Support of Palestinian Liberation” will be presented, debated, and voted upon by the SSMU Membership.

As previously mentioned, the Special Strike General Assembly will be taking place in a hybrid format at 6:00 pm / 18h EST on the second floor of the University Centre. There is a strict 300-person capacity due to fire code regulations. This capacity will be strictly enforced by building staff.  We encourage all members to register for the Zoom link in case capacity is reached before they arrive.

To attend remotely and vote at the SGA online, you must fill out the attached form before 2:30pm today and provide the required information to have your membership verified to receive the Zoom link.

For those who wish to attend the SGA in person, a physical McGill ID is required for entry, without exception.  Furthermore, should in-person capacity be reached, in-person SSMU members will be provided the opportunity to vote online through Zoom by verifying their SSMU membership with designated volunteers on the 1st floor of the University Center.

As a reminder, if the Strike motion passes, participation is voluntary.

Please contact the Speaker of the Legislative Council and Chair of the Board of Directors if you have any questions about the Special Strike General Assembly or the process applicable to this Assembly.
Regards,
Speaker of the Legislative Council and Speaker  of the Board of Directors
