Building Services coordinates security measures for the SSMU University Centre (3480 McTavish) and SSMU Office (3501 Peel).
 

On-Site Security

 

  • University Centre: Security personnel are stationed at the main entrance during operating hours
  • SSMU Office: Reception staff monitor access during business hours
  • After Hours: Access is restricted to authorized personnel with proper credentials

Building Access & Hours

University Centre (3480 McTavish)

June 1 to August 17, 2025
Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Closed (except for special events)

SSMU Annex (3501 Peel)

June 1 to August 17, 2025
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday: Closed

After-Hours Access

Clubs requiring after-hours access must submit a request through our online form at least 48 hours in advance. Approval is subject to security considerations and building availability.

Event Security

Events may require dedicated security personnel based on:

  • Expected attendance
  • Nature of the event
  • Alcohol service
  • Time and duration

Security requirements are determined during the event booking process. For more information, visit the Security Support page.

Reporting Security Concerns

  • Immediate Threats: Call 911, then notify McGill Security at 514-398-3000
  • Non-Emergency Concerns: Report to on-site security personnel or Building Services staff
  • Lost & Found: See the Lost & Found page for procedures
