Business Review, McGill Students’

The McGill Business Review was founded in 2015 and is the first periodical at McGill University to be devoted solely to the publication of articles focusing on the global business community. The MBR, an online-only journal, serves as an outlet for McGill students to express their varied views and opinions on a range of business topics, including: economics, entrepreneurship, finance, technology, innovation, global politics, and government policy. Composed of a team of undergraduate student editors, writers and executives that each play an integral role individually in the production and publication process, the MBR is driven to produce excellent content and curate articles for a multifarious scholastic and professional audience.

Contemporary Review of Genocide and Political Violence

Canada is no stranger to genocide, although Canadians sometimes can be. We are a nation founded on genocide. We continue to exist on stolen land from murdered indigenous peoples, and we continue the theft along with the murder. Canada went on to suppress other minorities (any list would oversimplify) much of which continues today. This reality necessitates that we study the topic, review our history, to attempt understand today, and to prepare for tomorrow. As Heschel said “We are not all guilty, but we are all responsible.” In this contemporary review, we hope to better comprehend the past and the present from our current standpoint. The topics are broad and can only be understood with serious analysis of its different embodiments. It is possible that, given the constantly changing abuses, a study of genocides and political violence will never be complete. As such, we nonetheless hope to make a small contribution to a global exchange.

We at Counterpoint are obsessed with music and through Counterpoint, we hope to rub off some of our passion onto you.

Critical Media

The Critical Media Club is a student-run club focused on the intersection of anthropological research and multimedia artistic creation. Meeting weekly in Peterson 108, the club holds screenings, work-in-progress sharing events, and visiting artist workshops. Founded in 2023, the club has hosted many successful events including a screening of GEOGRAPHIES OF SOLITUDE in December 2023 (with a masterclass by director Jacquelyn Mills), and the screening series “Hesitant Eyes, Turbulent Bodies: Documentaries on Contemporary Iran and Afghanistan” held in Spring 2025. Our workshares have helped several students become aspiring filmmakers, and one film which was heavily workshopped in the CMC, Joseph Dahdah’s PULSE, was selected for the Festival International du Film Éthnographique de Montreal in May 2025.

The Rennet

The Rennet is a food magazine dedicated to building healthy relationships between McGill Students and the food they eat. We will provide easy-to-make recipes, review and discuss different restaurants in and around McGill, and create a space for students to talk about their own experiences with food on and off campus.

The transition into university life can be difficult, and our mission at The Rennet is to provide helpful and informed advice to all members of the McGill community and promote healthy eating habits.
