Mental Illness Speaker Series: (In)Accessibility

Mental Illness Speaker Series: (In)Accessibility

About the event

Are you struggling to get help on campus? You’re not alone. After the complete overhaul of McGill health services, many students are struggling to make sense of the new system in place. For this reason, we found it necessary to hold an event that will be hosting a member of the Student Wellness Hub team, who will be explaining the new healthcare delivery model at McGill, with emphasis on access to mental health support.

A key component of any model of care is the ease by which it can be accessed. This event will explore the factors that contribute to lesser known barriers to access, and will pull from intersectional perspectives to critically examine systems in place at McGill and in the greater Montreal community in a focus group-style discussion. This will culminate in a discussion on ways through which these barriers can be overcome by students from all backgrounds.
