Dear SSMU Member,
On March 11, 2022, a motion calling for a Special General Assembly for the removal of Officer Daryanani for reason of impropriety was presented to the Speaker by SSMU members with a supporting petition with 231 signatures. Under Article 13.2 of the SSMU Constitution, the Speaker shall call a Special General Assembly if requested to do so in writing by no fewer than fifty (50) Members of the Society from at least four (4) different faculties or schools with no more than fifty percent (50%) being from any one faculty or school.
With this requirement being satisfied, the SSMU will hold a Special General Assembly on Monday, April 11th, 2022, at 18:00 EST, via Zoom to deliberate on the removal of Officer Darshan Daryanani. Please note that a General Assembly is the only process in which a SSMU Officer may be removed from their position, other than by their own resignation.
Please note that a digital form will be attached for registration for attendance of the Special General Assembly. https://forms.gle/gd65NeLWC3eMAkBGA
Please contact the SSMU Speaker if you have any questions about the Special General Assembly or the process applicable to this Assembly.
Regards,
SSMU Speaker
