Canadian Nursing Students Association (CNSA)

The Canadian Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA) is the national voice of Canadian nursing students. Our goal is to increase the legal, ethical, professional, and educational aspects which are an integral part of nursing. CNSA is actively dedicated to the positive promotion of nurses and the nursing profession as a whole.

Global China Connection (GCC)

Global China Connection (GCC) is a student-run non-profit organization that helps develop deep and trusting personal relationships between young leaders. GCC network currently consists of 62 university chapters around the world, and GCC McGill is one of the leading chapters in Canada. GCC McGill is committed to building a multicultural and interacting community by organizing a variety of activities including delegations of university students, social and professional events, cocktail, panels and more. Inter-Greek Letter Council (IGLC)

The Inter-Greek Letter Council (IGLC) unites McGill’s fraternities and sororities through coordinated events and collective standards. It is through the IGLC that these Greek Organizations receive access to McGill resources and support. The IGLC brings together students of leadership, friendship, and scholarship, who are continuously active on campus and in the greater Montreal community with the goals of community service and personal development.

Junior Hong Kong Business Association

Founded in 2006, the Hong Kong Canada Business Association, Junior Division is the young professional wing of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association, the largest bilateral trade organization in Canada.

We strive to create a strong network of students and young professionals who aspire to pursue their post-undergraduate careers in Asia. Past events we have organized include company tours, career workshops, case competitions and networking cocktails.

McGill Debating Union

The McGill Debating Union is one of the top university debating societies in the world, and we compete regularly at tournaments all across Canada and the US! We’re always welcoming new members, no experience necessary; whether you want to win debate tournaments or simply learn a new fun skill, we encourage you to attend our weekly practices and show-rounds!

McGill Exchange Student Association

We are a group of McGill students who have gone on exchange and want to help you make your exchange experience as easy and fun as possible! McGill Pre-Dental Students’ Society (MPDSS)

The McGill Pre-Dental Students’ Society (MPDSS) aids McGill students interested in the field of dental medicine. The club serves to provide students with accurate and up-to-date information about dental school admissions and opportunities to gain insight into the profession.

We provide dentistry-oriented events, such as specialized carving events with Kaplan, information sessions with McGill Admissions and current dental students and much more. We strive to expose our members to new volunteer opportunities, shadowing experiences, and invaluable dental contacts.

McGill Pre-Law Students’ Society (MPLS)

The McGill Pre-Law Students’ Society (MPLS) offers resources such as speaker and panel events, seminars, and online information to guide our members through the decision about whether or not law school is the right fit for them and what kind of law they might be interested in.

We also have a Moot Court team that competes at competitions across Canada, and host the Annual Invitational Moot Court Tournament at the McGill Faculty of Law in January. As well, students have the opportunity to be published in the Annual Pre-Law Review Journal.

McGill Professional Development Student’s Association (MPDSA)

We provide a platform of opportunity for our members to develop the skills to become the leaders of tomorrow. We immerse them into an engaging, interactive network of ambitious and passionate students that are inspired by each other’s successes. We also provide individuals with business experience, and with additional avenues to refine their skills. McGill Students for DECA U is a chapter that operates within the provincial governing body of DECA U Quebec, which operates under the DECA Inc.

McGill Students Chapter for Scientista

McGill Students Chapter for Scientista aims to empower women majoring in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEM) through content, communities, and conferences. In order to achieve these goals, the McGill Students Chapter for Scientista will provide workshops and create online content, including student spotlights, networking opportunities with successful women in STEM, community outreach, and socials events (monthly brunches, science movie night, de-stress event, and more).

This organization is a chapter of the national Scientista Foundation. Currently the largest network of campus women across STEM disciplines, Scientista serves to connect all communities of women in STEM at campuses across the United States and Canada, giving such important organizations more visibility and resources, and building a strong, cohesive network of women in science that can act as one voice.

McGill Students Chapter of American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES)

American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is an organization based primarily in the U.S. focused on promoting Aboriginal involvement in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic (STEM) related fields. The McGill Students Chapter of AISES focuses on directly engaging local Aboriginal youth in any STEM discipline.

McGill Students for Enactus

Enactus McGill is a group of talented and motivated students from McGill University striving to make a difference in their community and improving the quality of life through entrepreneurial action. This organisation is composed of students representing all faculties within McGill University.

We strive to create a long-term impact on the communities and businesses that we are involved with. Whether it be by providing education to Syrian refugees, empowering young students to become entrepreneurs or empowering the homeless with their recycling business, our projects reach a diverse community both locally and nationally. Enactus McGill is proud to have recently initiated several unique entrepreneurial projects to benefit the Montreal community.

McGill Students Graduate Management Consulting Association (GMCA)

Established in May 2013, the McGill Students’ Graduate Management Consulting Association (McGill Students’ GMCA) provides exceptional undergraduate students, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows with the skills and training necessary to enter and excel in the competitive world of management consulting. The McGill Students’ GMCA was created with a the aim of:

1) Offering a number of information, training, and networking events focusing specifically on the management consulting industry, providing McGill students with the training and resources necessary to excel in the world of management consulting.
2) Providing general career development to its members, allowing McGill students to acquire and develop soft skills that are not currently emphasized by their academic program.

McGill Students Trading Society (MSTS)

The McGill Students Trading Society (MSTS) looks to raise awareness on stock market facts, investment strategies and healthy investment mentalities. By building a platform that allows students to exchange relevant opinions about finance, network with current professionals and participate in real-life based simulations, we hope to prepare students to navigate the stock market.

McGill Students’ Actuarial Association (MSAA)

The McGill Students’ Actuarial Association is a nascent SSMU student club looking to boost support for aspiring actuaries at McGill. We serve as a liaison between actuarial students and their goals, providing members with information on actuarial science to allow them to break into the actuarial world. We provide a place where students with similar interests can connect with one another and be represented for by a student association. We do not act as an actuarial firm and do not carry out actuarial work.

McGill Women in Computer Science (McWiCS)

We seek to cultivate a warm, open-minded community of techies dedicated to supporting and encouraging women in computer science.

Within this community, we seek to expand the opportunities of women to explore all aspects of the technological world and to encouraging them to create a positive impact on it.

McGill Women in Leadership Students Association (MWIL)

McGill’s Women in Leadership Students’ Association (MWIL) is a SSMU club dedicated to empowering young women before and as they enter the professional world. The organization serves as an informational resource and networking forum to instill confidence in female (and male) students while preparing them for the workforce. The organization provides a series of guest lectures, trips to leadership conferences, and workshops, among other events, granting members extensive opportunities to learn, bond, and network with mentors and colleagues. Hailing from diversified fields of study and interests, the Executives are driven to provide resources of the highest quality to their constituents.

MedSpecs (Medical Perspectives)

Interested in medicine? MedSpecs (Medical Perspectives) offers a platform where students can find more information on how to get a career in healthcare. Along with shadowing opportunities in over 20 specialties across the MUHC, we offer monthly presentations on topics like getting into medical school, acing the mcat, MMI & Interviews, getting your dream research position, and more! So come join us; your medical future awaits!

SSMU Women in Tech

The SSMU Women in Tech aims to inspire women into entering the IT field by giving them the knowledge and skills they might need. Our club will be dedicated to provide mentorship and networking opportunities by arranging conferences given by experienced women speakers, as well as other informative events and workshops.

Student Research Initiative (SRI)

Student Research Initiative (SRI) is a group of undergraduate students at McGill working to raise funds to create more research opportunities for fellow students here on campus through awards offered by our own club and by assisting students in finding their own opportunities. We provide information on how to get involved in and conduct research, organize networking opportunities and lab tours, as well as various fundraising events.

Students Offering Support (SOS)

Students Offering Support (SOS) is a national student-led charity made up of a network of student volunteers working through university chapters to coordinate and teach Exam-AID’s (group review sessions prior to midterms/finals for first and second year courses). SOS charges a $20 donation for students to attend our sessions and at the end of each year, all the money raised by an SOS chapter is spent on an educational sustainable development project in a Latin American country. These projects are not only funded by SOS, but they are also planned and built by SOS volunteers through an annual outreach trip. This full-circle experience provides volunteers an experience to see the direct impact they can have on their community as well as in marginalized communities around the world.
